23rd ANNUAL DALLAS TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS
Saturday, June 12, 2010
Shepton High School
Plano, TXGreetings to all Masters, Instructors, Competitors and Spectators
Welcome to the 23rd Annual Dallas Taekwondo Championships.
Perseverance … a basic tenet of Taekwondo.
Success comes to those who do not give up, and it takes a lot of work to achieve something truly great. We identify the quality of perseverance through acts of patience, focus, overcoming obstacles, and by the practice of following one’s convictions - being true to what you think is right and important. In times like these, it is easy to become distracted. But, now more than ever, it is critical that we focus on our goals and persevere to attain them.
The founders of the Taekwondo Tenets clearly understood how they all interact to not only help martial artists develop physically, but mentally and spiritually, as well. Throughout history, men and women have been challenged by events that were out of their control. Working within the tenets help us to focus on that which is within our power to achieve. Find the path to overcome adversity.
It is my goal to ensure that this 23rd Annual Dallas Taekwondo Championships is as successful and enjoyable an event as possible, where we can showcase our Texas spirit and sportsmanship, and praise all of our dedicated Taekwondo athletes. This annual tournament is not possible without the hard work of all the Masters, instructors, competitors, referees, coaches, and volunteers that work together to make it successful. I owe my gratitude and deep appreciation to each of you. Without your continued support and enthusiasm, this tournament would not be possible.
As always, I look forward to seeing everyone, and wish each and every competitor a safe and rewarding experience at this year’s championship.
Sincerely,
Jin S. Chung
